frost mettle

We, in unity, have frozen over the last week. A thick winter veil fell, & so did the mercury.  As the temps held ground well below freezing, we found our own tenacity in enduring this wild place.

There are only parts of the nation, the world, that can fathom what -40 feels like. A seasonal solemn that takes mettle to withstand.

It seems timely that what I've been working on has also lacked color, lacked warmth, but still has a lot of grit. Pairing textured silver with White Buffalo, like the flat skyless white of a socked-in winter, leaving only granular pockets of contrast. This monochrome stone is beautiful in its simplicity, but not dull. It captures interest with speckles of high contrast, much like our swinging temperatures.

Despite the air biting at our nose & cheeks, tingling in the tips of our fingers, it could be described as peaceful. Bitterly peaceful. The colors are muted, so are the sounds.

This collection, coming soon, will be muted in this same way.
Subdued, frostily beautiful.
